People often ask about my skin care regimen, & I've never really had one until now. I've never had to worry about using certain cleansers, my face was always clear. Getting older, I found out I had to start pampering my skin, OR ELSE. I broke out like NEVER before a couple of seasons ago, it was HORRIBLE. So I decided to give Proactive a try when the creams weren't working for me. Proactive was way too strong & made my situation WAY worse. My face was the exact texture of sandpaper. It was a mess! One of my clients recommended Black Soap. She was a middle aged woman, with the most gorgeous skin! She had no scarring & no blemishes. When she hit her mid 20's her skin freaked out on her as well. She said she spent so much time & money on regimens that didn't work. Needless to say I ran to the nearest Beauty Supply and got me a piece! Within a week my skin cleared! In some cases your skin does get worse before it gets better, it was hard to tell with my case. It leaves a "squeaky clean" feeling to where it almost feels dry. MU & HAIR BY E TO THE ELL OH! ;)

Today I worked for my good friend & loyal client, Carolina Imperial. "La Princesa de la Musica Mexicana". I have been her personal MU Artist & friend for over 4 years now, she's talented, humble, and an all around great person. SO IS HER MOTHER! :)

Today she is filming the commercial for La Academia casting, which is basically the latin version of American Idol. She will be one of the judges for this TV show! Starts July 2 which will air on Aztecas in Dallas. Congratulations Carolina!

Check her out, she is EXTREMELY talented & has one of the most beautiful voices I have EVER heard. & I'm not just saying that because she's my friend.

E.Lo?

Here we go, this is my millionth attempt to blog. I really want to expand this E.Lo Artistry situation & this seems like a great way. I am on Twitter, Skype, Facebook, & now the blogger world.

So why E. Lo? Who am I anyway? Well, here goes; It all started when I was 19. I needed a quick job to get me through cosmetology school. I would constantly walk by the MAC counter & obsess over the gorgeous, flawless, women dressed in black, standing on leather boots & stilletos. I SO wanted to be "one of them". So I applied, & waited patiently, & nothing ever happened. In fact, they may have laughed as soon as I turned the corner. So again, about 6 months later, I tried again, & finally found a way in! I got my start at the Parks in Arlington & worked with the most amazing team. The Parks has a hood vibe, so we all had hood nicknames. E.Lo was born.... Now my MAC Fam calls me by that name. In fact, it's weird when they call me by my real name. These Artists have inspired me, & taught me SO much, & I would be nothing if it weren't for these talented people. I have worked ALL over the DFW area. My home right now is Hulen, FTW.

I am a part time artist & the rest of the time, I'm working magic with my freelance co, "E. Lo Artistry". It's a blessing to do what you love to do & pay your bills at the same time. I love the satisfaction I receive from making someone feel beautiful. I also enjoy training & helping artists improve their skill. Ultimately, I would like my gigs to expand, while still running & being apart of a successful MAC location. I don't think I could ever trade in my lashes or my fishnets for any other job again. It's LOVE, & it's meant to be.

I am from a SUPER small town, & have been living in the DFW for over 11 years. God, my family, & my career is really all that matters to me. My dream would be a mix of everything. I would love to travel back towards my hometown permanently but I guess we'll just have to wait and see. Although my swagger is not very common in West TX, & I catch folks looking at me crazy ALL the time, I know that is where I want to end up. Personally, I think they could use some city flavor... I'm that girl standing in line at the grocery store thinking of all the things I could do to make that lady in front of me look & feel WAY better. It'd be a good thing. BUT, till then, you can find me in FTW. :)
